Course Outline

Inadequate control of Oral Hygiene in orthodontic patients is a frustration faced by every orthodontist, resulting in prolonged treatment times, poor overall tissue response, and in some cases permanent damage requiring aftercare treatment. Procter and Gamble, in co-operation with Canadian Orthodontists has developed the "OrthoCare Program" for orthdodontic patients, that combines the most modern risk management practices and comtemporary quality control measures. This Program empowers the orthodontic practice and the patient/parent with evidence bolstered tools that improve hygiene, modify "at home" behaviors, and provide effective guidance for individualized hygiene control practices for patients. This lecture with familiarize the Orthodontist with the aspects of the program, and provide valuable guidance in how to improve the quality of care of patients on a daily basis.
