Dr. Jeffrey P. Pancer DDS, D, ABDSM is a graduate of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry and serves as President AADSM (June 8/2008-2010)

Dr. Pancer runs a successful dental practice in Toronto, Canada. In addition to general dentistry, a large portion of his practice is devoted to oral appliance therapy for sleep disordered breathing (SDB). In December 1999, he published a study involving one hundred and thirty four patients with different levels of snoring and apnea using an adjustable mandibular repositioner. An important aspect of this study was the high number of severe apnea patients treated by oral appliance therapy. This study was published in “Chest”, the journal of the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Pancer has additionally published articles in Sleep Review and RT.

Dr. Pancer is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) and has been a member since 1995. He is the President (2008- 2010) of that organization. He served on the AADSM Board of Directors from 1998 to 2004 and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. He was the editor of the “Dialogue”, the quarterly bulletin of the AADSM.

He is also a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and has been since 1995. Dr. Pancer served on the Standards of Practice Committee of the AASM from 2004 to June 2007. This committee published many practice parameters on various sleep disorders during this time. Importantly, in February 2006 this committee published the new “Practice Parameters for the Treatment of Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea with Oral Appliances: An Update for 2005” in the journal “Sleep”.

Dr. Pancer has lectured on oral appliance therapy in the United States and Canada. On Oct. 10/11, 2009 with the AADSM he will lecture in New Orleans; on Nov. 7/8, 2009 with the AADSM he will lecture in Orlando; and Feb. 20/21, 2010 with the AADSM he will lecture in Phoenix.
