Course Overview

Most courses present ideal cases with perfect outcomes. But real life endodontics presents all of us with occasional mishaps. This practical and engaging lecture will cover the causes, prevention and management of endodontic errors that everyone experiences but few dare talk about. Tailored for the general practitioner, this course provides easy-to-follow and practical information that every attendee could immediately take to their practice.

A hands-on component will train participants on rotary instrumentation and warm obturation.

Primary learning objectives:

To make your endodontic practice easier, more predictable and enjoyable!

Lecture component:

How to avoid these endodontic mishaps but what to do if they come your way:

  • instrument separation
  • perforations
  • poor obturations
  • missed canals
  • misdiagnosis of clinical symptoms and radiographs
  • flare-ups
  • anaesthesia complications
  • …and many more clinical topics.

Hands-on component:

(participants are asked to bring at least 2 previously accessed extracted teeth)

  • rotary instrumentation
  • various obturation techniques

Biography

Dr. Manor Haas, D.D.S., Cert. Endo., M.Sc.(D), F.R.C.D.(C) maintains a private practice in Toronto, limited to Endodontics and microsurgery. He is on staff at both the Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. He is a clinic instructor and lecturer in the undergraduate and graduate Discipline of Endodontics. Dr. Haas obtained his dental degree from the University of Toronto, and specialized in Endodontics at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has given numerous continuing education courses to various dental organizations and has published many articles in dental journals. Dr. Haas has accumulated a decade of experience in incorporating magnification into daily dental practice, including general dentistry.
